A Message from the Founder, Jim Buck
Dear Tennis Enthusiasts,
2012 was a great year for the Indian River Tennis Foundation. We began the year with our Annual Cocktail Party, a kickoff to the “Friday Night Pro Exhibitions”, held at the Grand Harbor Golf Club. We had a silent auction, a fantastic party and great food from our host. We then enjoyed our featured speaker, John Lloyd, former English great, current commentator with BBC, and first husband of Chris Evert. He was funny, insightful, and full of wonderful stories from the Tennis world.
Among our other highlights in 2012;
- 8 weeks of Friday Pro Exhibitions at Grand Harbor featuring the top Treasure Coast Pros
- 3 weeks of summer camps for local children held at Riverside Tennis Complex
- Provided Tennis clinics for children at the Jungle Club, Twin Oaks, Hidden Palms, and Riverside
- $1,500.00 scholarships awarded to Connor Pickering and Joalis Dominguez
- $1,000.00 grants to Vero Beach HS, Sebastian HS, Masters Academy and St. Edwards School for their Tennis Programs
- Provided Youth Guidance Tennis Clinics at the Jungle Club in the summer months
- Donated summer Tennis lessons to team tennis players in the USTA summer 10 and up leagues at Hidden Palms
- Held a Pro-Am at Orchid Island Golf and Beach Club

It is that time again to ask of all of you to join or renew your $50.00 Single/$100.00 Family, yearly membership. Please consider giving to junior tennis in Indian River County by doing this. The IRTF is dedicated to supporting junior tennis in our county and this year will set out with our same agenda and goals of giving. IRTF is run by local Tennis Pros and Tennis enthusiasts and we give directly back to the community. The cost of being a part of something so simple and positive is low; the feeling of giving back is special!
This year we will kick off the IRTF season again at Grand Harbor on Friday, March 22nd at 6:00pm. Become a sponsor and/or a cabana owner for $500.00, memberships included. Display your company banner for $200. Former top ten players Mikael Pernfors and Jimmy Arias will dual against each other and local pros as we open our Friday Night Exhibition Series with a BANG and a Kickoff Party. Join us complimentary as a member and for the following 5 weeks as we enjoy another season of top tennis in our wonderful tennis community.
